I am passionate about how people work!
My passion runs deep since I started studying the relationship between how we work and work injuries over three decades ago.
As a PT pioneer in the ergonomics consulting industry since 1993, I have used my expertise, experience, know-how, and savvy to change the way people work from employee to employee, organization to organization resulting in improved employee health and organizational productivity.
I am a trusted advisor and valued consultant to my clients, many of whom I have worked with for multiple decades. I have a distinguished career highlighted by a comprehensive body of work in ergonomics.
I have worked diligently to assure validation in the methods and theories utilized by Worksite International through periodic peer reviews, submission of research, and presentation to my peers at national and international conferences.
I'm also a respected ergonomics teacher, valued coach and mentor to thousands of employees and ergonomics professionals who have successfully graduated from the Worksite International Ergonomics Training Academy.
All this to guarantee my clients the best service and outcomes possible in the ergonomics industry to impact their organizational health, safety, and financial wellness.
I learned to surf when I met my husband, Frank Ono, 26 years ago. He is an expert surfer and local legend. He told me he was known to "paddle out of relationships!"
Not without me! So he bought me a wetsuit and taught me how to surf!
The rest is history!
We've surfed and traveled the world from the coasts of California to Mexico, to Hawaii, the islands of Fiji, Galapagos Islands, Central America, Puerto Rico, and the west coast of France.
Surfing is a life-changing experience! It is the divine addiction. I cherish each wave I make and the experiences I've had to release me from my day to day work. Nothing makes me smile more than catching a good wave!
As a child, I had bad allergies to dogs and cats. So, when I learned as an adult, I could finally get a non-shedding pet with low dander, I wanted a poodle. It was Frank who convinced me we should get a Standard Poodle.
First, there was Moka, the Chocolate Standard Poodle. Moka was the child I never had. Unfortunately, she passed too young at 8 years old from cancer.
Then came Honolulu "Lulu" Latte, a dark chocolate turned white chocolate standard poodle. Lulu comes to work with me every day and is by my side all the time. She loves the beach and is the happiest romping in the tide line with a ball in her mouth, chasing her brother, Boo Bear, the Apricot Standard Poodle.
Playing with Lulu and Boo is the 2nd best stress reliever to surfing!
“Alison’s presentation offered helpful insight and practical strategies to our audience of lab managers and lab leadership personnel and gave them actionable strategies to implement immediately in their laboratories.
I enjoyed working with Alison on our Digital Safety Summit very much - her communication was excellent!
I would recommend Alison to anyone who is interested in learning more about ergonomics and who wants to present her strategies to their clients or colleagues."
